Security & OpSec for WeTheNorth

A short, practical checklist tailored to WTN's anti-phishing surface and the Tor environment.

Phishing surface

Most WTN-loss stories on r/darknet are phishing, not exit scams. The hostile sites copy WTN's red/white theme and login form, and intercept the captcha. Mitigations:

Type the v3 onion by hand or paste from a PGP-signed source.
Cross-check the on-site URL banner that WTN prints in the header.
Never click WTN links from forums, Telegram chats or email.

OpSec hygiene

One purpose per Tor window. Don't browse anything else in the session you log in from.
JS off when possible. WTN runs without JavaScript; keep it off.
Cold wallets only. Hot wallets on the same machine as Tor Browser are a liability.
PGP on for everything. Vendor messages, address handoff, recovery codes.

Wallet hygiene

Pair-fresh BTC addresses for each deposit. For Monero, generate sub-addresses per vendor where supported. Never reuse a deposit address you've already withdrawn from.
